No live racing for us today. But it doesn’t mean we aren’t racing.
I’ve got a watch list that spans two columns of a sheet of paper (old school). It starts with the third at Fontainebleau and finishes with the eighth at Charles Town, 6:12 a.m to 8:32 p.m. Ninety-some races. The ones I really want to watch are in bold, that’s everything from the Brocklesby (the turf season is underway) to jump races at the Carolina Cup to an all-weather handicap at Kempton to the Florida Derby to the Arkansas Derby.
I’ll catch most of those live but if not, replays will do tonight or tomorrow morning.
In between all those races, we’ll make breakfast, lunch and maybe dinner. We’ll have a catch in the backyard (spring break, games next week), we’ll feed the horses this afternoon and we’ll walk our goat. Yes, we walk our goat.
