Lorraine drew post 14, the last horse on the also-eligible list, in the seventh race at Delaware Park Wednesday. Obviously little chance of running so I didn’t bother telling anyone that she was even entered. Then a text from trainer Danielle Hodsdon at 8:48 Wednesday morning.
They are on grass as of now. She is first to draw in, they will call me back if they get a scratch

And off goes Carl Doran, with Lorraine. Shoes tightened in a hurry, tack box thrown together, possibly a little late at the stable gate but she’ll be there in time for Lasix.

Riverdee did get two horses in at Laurel Park Monday. Pietrelcina and Koru. The first and seventh races. Memorial Day. If we squint, maybe it’ll feel like Fair Hill.
