OK, back in the entries.
Mortal Sin and trainer Danielle Hodsdon ship to Presque Isle Downs today. The 4-year-old runs in the fifth race Friday. The son of Solomini is 7/2 in a field of seven. A couple of decent tries over the synthetic track last year, hopefully he can duplicate them and handle a field of conditioned claimers.
Jhirsch makes his first start for Riverdee at Saratoga Sunday. The New York-bred won a training flat race at Middleburg in April, missed a spot at Aqueduct because of a foot abscess and now takes on a full field at Saratoga. Tough race. Jose Lezcano takes the call for trainer Laird George. One thing is for certain, the entry kicks off Saratoga earlier than ever. We’ll make the trip.
Vintage Year hit the entries at Colonial Downs Sunday. The two-time maiden hurdle winner finished fourth at Delaware Park in his return to the flat and shortens up (not ideal) to a mile at Colonial. The last time he ran at Colonial, he chased Integration and Utah Beach. Look them up. Yeah, some maiden race. Sheldon Russell rides for Jack Fisher.
Beyond those, we’re scouring condition books for Ethics, Lorraine and a few others.
