An answer to a trivia question.

Who is the only horse to win three maiden races in a season (possibly a career)?

Vintage Year.

The son of Point Of Entry won his third maiden race yesterday, storming from the back under Sheldon Russell to upset a maiden turf race at Colonial Downs. Trained by Jack Fisher, the Kentucky-bred 6-year-old improved his 2025 season to three wins (all maiden races) from four starts for $81,250.

“What a cool horse,” Russell said. “Did everything right.”

Somehow, the Riverdee colors were lost during the afternoon which meant Russell wore the black sub silks (to correspond with the saddle towel) and the red cap of Riverdee. Yes, for 1:36.24, we were the Phipps Stable. Buckpasser, Personal Ensign, Easy Goer…Vintage Year.

Back at it tonight at Colonial with Ethics making his Riverdee debut. Post time is 8:50.
