Easy Saturday

Seems strange to not be looking for my binoculars, checking car passes, tying a tie and scrambling out the door.

The Foxfield Fall Races run on Sunday. I guess to avoid college football. I won’t be watching college football today. An easy Saturday, followed by a frenetic Sunday. Miles baseball this afternoon. Phillies baseball tonight. And a Riverdee newsletter, jump picks, Saturday form and this blog before, during and after. Yes, during. I am, sometimes, that parent who pulls out his laptop during breaks between innings. Better than yelling out instructions to my kid, right?

Vintage Year and Cool Jet head to Foxfield tomorrow. The former, a two-time maiden winner this spring, returns to jumping in the 120 handicap. The son of Point Of Entry has had a productive season, winning three times, hopefully he can add to that. Graham Watters rides for Jack Fisher.

Cool Jet returns for his first start since winning the Grade 1 hurdle stakes at the Virginia Gold Cup in the spring. Competitive field, including champion Snap Decision, in the Grade 3 stakes. Bernie Dalton to ride for Jack Fisher.

I’ll be heading there tomorrow. Now where the hell are my binoculars?
