An answer to a trivia question.
Who is the only horse to win three maiden races in a season (career)?
Vintage Year won his third maiden race of the year when winning on the turf at Colonial Downs in July.
Purchased in 2023, the son of Point OF Entry finished third behind future Grade 2 stakes winner Integration in his first flat start for Riverdee. In his first jump start, the bay gelding over jumped at the first hurdle in a maiden at Foxfield and hit the sidelines for a year and a half.
The Kentucky-bred 6-year-old returned with a promising second at Old Dominion for Jack Fisher and Graham Watters and came right back to win a maiden hurdle at Foxfield. A medication violation by the winner of the first maiden handed that win to Vintage Year.
For the season, Vintage Year won three races for $90,150.
