Riverdee earned its first leading owner championship with a stellar 2025 season. The stable won 13 races from 54 starts for $516,800. Grade 1 stakes winner Cool Jet banked $190,500 to secure the Lonesome Glory Award as the sport’s leading earner and stakes winner Ethics tied for leading 3-year-old honors.
“What a year,” Riverdee’s Sean Clancy said. “Thanks to all the partners, trainers, jockeys and all the team members who contributed to our season. Most of all thanks to the horses. Cool Jet anchored the team. His Grade 1 win at the Gold Cup in the spring was certainly the highlight of an amazing season. Cyber Ninja and Ethics emerged as promising young horses. Vintage Year, Roja Redemption, Potus and all the others contributed to a dream season.”
With veteran Bernie Dalton aboard for the first time, Cool Jet upset the Grade 1 Commonwealth Cup at the Virginia Gold Cup in May. The 9-year-old came back to secure the Grade 3 Mariann de Tejeda Memorial at Foxfield in October and the Grade 3 Noel Laing at Montpelier in November. The son of Jet Away fell at the first hurdle of the Grade 1 Colonial Cup. Most importantly, he emerged unscathed from that miscue. With $331,750 banked for the dark blue and light blue (and red), the Irish-bred surpassed City Dreamer, Eagle Poise and Gibralfaro on the all-time Riverdee earnings list.
