Riverdee rolls back into action today. Roja Redemption and Pietrelcina head to Laurel Park and Penicillin Success and Cool Jet get back to work in the trials at Shawan Downs. Purse and no purse. Objectives and different objectives.
Roja Redemption makes his second start since joining Riverdee. A project, we’re still projecting. Pietrelcina makes his fifth start for Riverdee and 12th of his career. Still a maiden, he’s picked up three seconds and three thirds. Perhaps today is the day. I’ve said that before.
Penicillin Success returns for his first start since winning a maiden claimer at Radnor in May. He’s prepping for Foxfield. Cool Jet hasn’t been out since a crashing fall at Middleburg in April. He could also go to Foxfield. Today is about knocking off some rust, opening up the pipes and enjoying a low-key day in expectation of bigger days down the road. I counted 77 entries in seven heats so a lot of trainers thinking the same thing. As I’ve said before, you can’t win anything in a training flat race but you can lose a lot.
