We are back in action this weekend.

Our first runners of 2024.

Snow Geese lines up in the second division of the maiden at Carolina Cup Saturday. Bernie and Kate Dalton put their southern base to good use with a win at Aiken. Hopefully that continues with our promising 4-year-old.

Include It returns at Cheshire Sunday for the first time since winning at the Grand National in 2022. Patience is a virtue…

Good thing there isn’t a single-meet restriction on owners like the one for jockeys in England as I’ll try to get from Cheshire to Green Spring to catch action there.

Queens Empire returns for his second timber season. Apprentice Whitney Schweizer partnered him at the Foxhall Team Race and gets the return call. Glad to support an apprentice on his dream chasing.

Potus (below) makes his timber debut at Green Spring. A two-time winner over hurdles, he’s hunted all winter and spun around Foxhall.

Cool Jet shakes off some rust in the Caves Farm flat race. A two-time novice stakes winner, the Irish-bred steps into open stakes this year.

Now, we might need some spotters for the finale. Zabeel Champion makes his Riverdee debut. Grade 1 stakes winner Awakened preps for the Temple Gwathmey. Rocket One gets back to work for what will hopefully be a successful novice stakes campaign. Newcomer Pietrelcina (below) makes his first start for Danielle Hodsdon.

Surely, the mile and a half flat race will split in two divisions. Maybe three. How about four?

Good to be back.
