Five entries at Old Dominion Saturday. Vintage Year returns from a long break in the sanctioned maiden hurdle. New recruit Cyber Ninja makes his hurdle debut in the point-to-point division of the maiden hurdle. Pietrelcina and American War Hero aiming at the same exercise. Koru makes his debut in the novice rider flat. All going for educational runs. For them and for us.
King Tsunami takes a spin on the flat at Elkridge-Harford Point-to-Point Saturday. Another prep for his expected NSA start at Loudoun Point-to-Point April 20. Apprentice James Wyatt making his debut in the Riverdee silks. Proud of that.
Still some details to finalize at Old Dominion but that’s the general plan for the weekend.
Enjoyed an educational trip to Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. yesterday. Note to self, don’t schedule a college tour on entry day. I was in the back checking jockey availability for the second while our tour guide Kat discussed campus life and meal plans. Yeah, I was that father.
As for the weather, we did receive some rain yesterday but need plenty more.
Quote of the Day:
“He usually works well, he does what he has to do and he just enjoys it. Hence why he’s such a good horse. He loves his work, thrives on a bit of pressure and he’s all guns blazing.” – Jockey James McDonald about globe-trotting superstar Romantic Warrior.
