Jimmy

The ever-improving Jimmy Dan won again over hurdles at Foxfield Sunday. The 6-year-old son of Kitten’s Joy has climbed the ladder this year – waiver maiden claimer, 110, 115, 120. Four wins from five starts for $72,500 for Riverdee and Ten Strike Racing. Some horse.

Jimmy Dan roared from last to first up the hill at Foxfield to win easily. The horses go out of sight at the far corner of Foxfield. As a spectator, it’s a moment of introspection, a moment to wonder or wail. They come back into view and it’s back to the action. Sunday, Miles and I watched from the wooden stand by the wire, Jimmy Dan went out of sight in last and came back into view in front. We took a double take and then jumped on board. Some moment.

Penicillin Success made up ground late to finish third in the 110 handicap. Cool Jet got back to work with a fourth in the Grade 3 stakes. Sebastopol and Parker Hendriks won the hurdle feature. Cool horse. Nice people. Great win.

On to Virginia Fall Saturday. A couple of entries.
