Hello, Royal Ascot

Today’s market movers with Betfred, official betting partner of Ascot

Betfred spokesman Matt Hulmes said, “It has been a brisk morning of trading so far as punters are out in force ahead of a fascinating week, and there has been an avalanche of support for a quartet of Joseph O’Brien-trained runners.

“In the Coventry Stakes, O’Brien’s Andab has been well backed into 8/1 from 14/1, while his stablemates Sons and Lovers (5/1 from 8/1) and Galen (10/1 from 25/1) are the best backed in the Wolferton Stakes.

“Aeronautic has been all the rage in the Copper Horse Stakes and is now 13/2 from 12/1. Also in the finale, French Master is a solid market leader and has hardened to 9/4 from 11/4 to send favourite backers home happy.

“Elsewhere, Poniros has been backed in the Ascot Stakes for the Willie Mullins-Tony Bloom combination. He was 100/1 when winning the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, but no such fancy prices are available today as punters have backed him all the way down to 9/4 from 5/1.”
