Let the games begin

The world tour has started. Or at least the British World Tour. One track down, a morning jaunt to Epsom to watch two unraced 3-year-olds of George Baker’s go through the paces. Smooth. Job done. Now on the way to Exeter Racecourse to watch Sherminator make his handicap debut in the 3:10. Well, 10:10, if you’re on the other side of the water.

“You’re driving to Exeter…?”

That’s the reaction as we explain today’s road trip. Like going from Middleburg to the Pennsylvania Hunt Cup. I figure. Of course, George is doing the driving and I’m doing the typing. Stopping for a shower and a shave on the way.

Looks like Sherminator is favorite or second choice against nine rivals.

Racing Post: Sherminator. Juvenile hurdle winner for Emma Lavelle and had a wind op after his successful debut for this yard; hadn’t been asked too many questions when falling at Cheltenham (race won by Supreme favourite Old Park Star) and he then won his novice quite nicely at Ludlow; brings potential into handicaps and plenty of it.

Racing Post Verdict: Quite competitive. Sherminator hasn’t done a lot wrong so far and he brings plenty of potential into handicaps.

Sherminator started off Cheltenham week 2025 in style. Why not again?

Oh, and a guest appearance from the one and only Richard Hutchinson.
