Quiet on Christmas morning. Miles sleeps in these days, actually, he’s slept in all the days. Santa knew he could leave our house to late, like in-the-morning late, knowing nothing was stirring. Made it easy.
It’s a Greek Alabama Christmas. Mild weather. Wild emotion. Shaia’s for a Bloody Mary Christmas Eve afternoon. Alabama Booksmith, my favorite spot, for a browse. Two parties last night, a couple of more today. Young nieces and nephew and cousins to rekindle the spirit, recharge the joy.
We’ll be here another day or two, then home, to do it all over again. A Virginia Christmas, then a Rehoboth Christmas. Less emotion. Older nieces, older nephews, older cousins. The presents don’t have as many parts these days. Not as many instructions.
Enjoy the day.
