Lorraine produced her fourth second in her sixth start for Riverdee Stable and Danielle Hodsdon at Colonial Downs Saturday. Our French-bred filly broke sharply, angled, cleared, stalked, kicked, opened…and got nailed. A half-length. She earned $14,000 for the effort.
The 4-year-old filly relishes distance and performed at her best while traversing 1 3/16 miles on the turf yesterday. Those races are hard to find which can be frustrating but it’s also part of the reason we were able to buy her privately from Bridlewood Farm, Madaket Stable and Michael Dubb last spring. They were looking for the same races. We are patient and we will keep looking.
Lorrained closed out a good week for Riverdee. Two wins and a second in five starts for $73,400.
