Tiz A Saturday

One eye on Cool Jet running loose at the back of the field, hoping he stays within the confines of Glenwood’s stonewalls. Or just has the good sense to stop. Which I know is a fool’s wish.

Another eye on Awakened, jumping well, traveling well, but always in the whipsaw slipstream of Snap Decision. Another eye on Zabeel Champion going OK, but the same feeling, minor shares on the table. Another eye (yeah it was ping-pong viewing) on Sebastopol, in a nice spot but hitting the dips and dales with a little too much force. He’ll learn.

Awakened stayed all the way to the line like he does, a third-place check, perhaps a second-place check lost behind a loose horse late. Sebastopol right behind Awakened. Zabeel just behind him.

Debriefs, dissertations, decisions afterward.

“Traveled well…blew up…he’ll improve…got tired…big heave…I’m OK…he’s OK…”

Tiz A Giant awesome in the maiden. Big, long, loping stride making it look easy. Perfect debut. The water gets deeper from here.

Queens Empire going for a Saturday afternoon lope at the Grand National.

King Tsunami and World Factor disappointing in their hurdle debuts. Back to school for them.

The beat goes on.

We entered five this morning.
