Grand National. Dubai World Cup. Wood Memorial. Santa Anita Derby. Elkridge-Harford and Old Dominion! We’ll be at the latter with six runners. One going to Elkridge-Harford. No questions asked. Hopefully a few answers. That’s the goal.
As always, it’s pensive around our house Saturday morning. So many thoughts, concerns, hopes, beliefs, worries and wonderments tied together in a program of runners. Days like this, when the money isn’t down and the actual results don’t matter, seem to be even more pensive. You just don’t want anything to go wrong, which, is different than wanting everything to go right. And, no, it’s not the ideal way to play any sport. But, alas, here we are, playing a pre-season game.
