Sunday double

Happy Sunday. Happy Fathers’ Day. Happy Laurel Park.

Action-packed Sunday ahead. Barn chores (immediately after this post), help orchestrate Miles’ departure to Governor’s School, quick shower, hopefully a scan of domestic form, shower, north to Laurel Park for the early double, lunch to celebrate our spring, back down I-95 for afternoon barn chores and hopefully a nice dinner at Field & Main with Annie.

The three amigos – Kissin Conquest, Eagle Poise and Apse – dictating some of the day’s logistics. Up and back and quick. That’s OK, our first jumper, our first Grade 3 winner and our first Saratoga winner, living their best lives.

Serifos aims to graduate in the opener. Trained by Jack Fisher and ridden by Jamie Bargary, the son of Into Mischief used a flat prep at Fair Hill to prepare for this. His effort at the Colonial Cup in November puts him square in the mix. The 12-1 on McLovin is far too generous. Maybe box those two.

Post time 12:00 p.m.

Jhirsch returns for his third hurdle start. A debut winner at Middleburg, the son of Not This Time should enjoy the flat oval setting for Laird George and Jamie Bargary. The 12-1 on the morning line is enticing. The Riverdee Double won’t offer much value, just saying.

Post time 12:32 p.m.

Solid effort from V Inspired Friday. Wide and open early, she stayed well to finish fifth. She’ll improve for the race and will improve when a hurdle is in her sights.

In the words of George Baker – must dash.
