It’s bustling in Butler. Race morning. Ride morning. The Saturday fanatics are out in force. Bicycles in every direction, in pairs, singles and pelotons. Horse vans in one direction, up and over the hill to Shawan Downs. Velloccino Bicicletta e Caffe feels like Times Square. Pedals and pastries. Coffee and clips.
A win picture of Snap Decision hangs on the wall. I’m going to bring one of Awakened.
Jack Fisher’s van (or vans) have been up and down Butler Road and through the Butler intersection all morning. Like Amazon Prime drivers, a bunch of special deliveries to make. Five Riverdee horses, Ethics and Serifos on the first load…Cyber Ninja on the second…Queens Empire and Potus on the final run. A short trip, the local meet.
Overcast and cool at the moment. Rain supposed to come blowing in during the afternoon. A 41% chance of rain at 1:00, a 62% chance by 2, Queens Empire won’t mind.
Safe trips. For horse riders and bike riders.
