Monday has come and gone. Slowly but surely trying to get back into the groove after a whirlwind weekend. Races and risks. Parties and problems. Horses and hospitals.
And hopes. Hopes for the horses and the jockeys.
We were content with Palio in the open hurdle and Pietrelcina in the maiden hurdle in the point-to-point races Sunday. We can grow on both of those efforts. Both could go to hurdle races at Virginia Gold Cup in two weeks. King Tsunami wound up on the back foot the whole way of a quick 110 handicap, made a little run and flattened out. Not sure why. We’ll regroup with him. He’ll be fine.
Queens Empire aims at the Maryland Hunt Cup Saturday. Gulp. Exhale. Chill. Cool Jet shoots for the 130 handicap and Vintage Year goes for the maiden hurdle at Foxfield Saturday. Koru and American War Hero point for Middleburg Point-to-Point Sunday.
Whirlwind weekends turn into whirlwind weeks. All coming fast.
