As you may have guessed, The Saratoga Special has consumed some of my attention, especially on this blog.
A few updates on the racing front. Jhirsch finished seventh at Saratoga Sunday. A disappointing run and we’re not exactly sure why. We’ll regroup.
Koru finished seventh at Colonial Downs and was claimed Wednesday. Not the story we wanted to tell but the way it goes sometimes.
American War Hero pulled up over hurdles at Colonial Downs Friday. Another disappointing run from a horse who has plenty of other attributes. The 4-year-old has been retired and will enjoy a life doing something else.
Awakened injured a tendon and has been retired. Our first Grade 1 winner, an overachiever who gave us some great days. He’ll have better days as a fox hunter or show horse or an event horse.
Looking ahead, we entered Vintage Year at Colonial Downs Saturday, Ethics at Colonial Downs Wednesday, Roja Redemption at Saratoga Wednesday and Lorraine at Colonial Downs Thursday.
Congratulations to The Jackal and his connections. Another Clancy Bloodstock graduate doing good things.
