Fall Break

I like how Kim Bailey writes his blog. He leads with the weather. Every day.

Plus 3, windy and raining when driving in. 8mm overnight.. Selective watering on the chase track at Doncaster for this weekends meeting!

That’s it, simple. He never has to worry about a creative, pithy, catchy way to start a blog. The weather. And then go from there.

Plus 36, clear, sunny, red sky this morning. 80% chance of rain tomorrow.

Now what?

Watching racing from Hereford, Wetherby, Deauville. Like always, I’ve selected the races I want to watch, put them in a spreadsheet; post time, type of race, horses to key upon. I’ll watch most, some live, some replay, some naturally skipped. Races start in England, Ireland and France today, then slide through New York, Florida, Kentucky and wind up with Penn National’s pre-Thanksgiving card, a couple of stakes on the docket.

Blake Snell to the Dodgers. The rich get richer.

Name of the Day: Lost Weekend. Charles Town. Race 2. Looking forward to a few of those this winter.

Horse to Watch: Dr. Barry in the seventh at Finger Lakes.

Stakes of the Day: The Turkey Trot at Parx and the Chocolate Town at Penn National. We just like the names.
