The Maryland-born jockey had ridden Roja Redemption once before, learned his style (steady with a side of stamina) and put that lesson to good use. She sent the bay gelding from the inside for about 10 strides, grabbed the lead with conviction and the 4-year-old son of Flintshire did the rest, opening up 6 lengths and rolling home by 2 1/2 lengths.

Purchased in March, Roja Redemption needed some time on Jack Fisher’s farm and improved his record to a win and a third in two starts for the dark blue, light blue and red.
